Presentation
The CAREN Court of Arbitration was created in Lille by the business and legal community. Its rules of procedure for arbitral referees (for provisional conservatory measures) was set up in 1994 while simplified procedures of arbitration were set up in 1996 (for cases involving small amounts).
Functions
The Court of Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of commerce and industry of Lille (CAREN) settles national and/or international disputes, under the control of a Committee which chooses competent and independent arbitrators (either through a choice of the parties or by itself). It also assures the rapidity and discretion necessary to this type of proceedings, and the efficiency of the sentences rendered, while eliminating problems linked to the determination of the court which has jurisdiction over a dispute.

The Court of Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of commerce and industry of Lille (CAREN) offers :

- a practical guide, forms, and a user guide for CAREN arbitration, also available in many languages;
- an international list of arbitrators;
- a administrative secretariat and an arbitration committee;
