The Permanent Court of Arbitration, although attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (hereinafter: the Court), is an autonomous and independent institution. Its abbreviated name is: The Permanent Court of Arbitration attached to the CCIS. The Court is the central arbitral institution in the Republic of Slovenia which resolves quickly and effectively by means of arbitration and conciliation any kind of commercial dispute, both for the domestic and international business community.
The main function of the Court is to organize and to provide for the resolution of domestic and international disputes: by arbitration, conciliation, as well as by combined conciliation-arbitration proceedings. Other functions of the Court are: to promote ADR by providing general information on arbitration and conciliation; to give assistance to the parties in drawing up dispute resolution clauses; to provide information with respect to the use of its rules of procedure; to assist parties when they request the organisation of an ad hoc arbitration; to provide general information about foreign arbitral institutions.
